Shawna O’Leary

Math Teacher

Shawna has never stopped teaching. She started substituting at a preschool while in high school and that drive progressed into her college years as part of America Reads, working with 1st-grade students. While double majoring in elementary education and mathematics, she gained more experience ranging from 3rd grade to 5th grade classrooms. Following college, Shawna became a teaching fellow at Merrimack College while earning her Master’s, teaching 7th-grade math class.

Although teaching is clearly her passion, it is not her only one; her second passion is traveling. After her Master’s program, that combination led her to find a summer position as a language assistant in Spain. Heronfield is excited to welcome Shawna to join Mrs. Hobbs, teaching math.
