Heronfield Academy seeks an engaging and innovative teacher, passionate about their subject area and about teaching middle school students for the 2025-2026 school year. This full-time position includes teaching four sections of Spanish – two sections for each of two grades. For most students, Spanish classes at Heronfield are their first experience in formal language learning, and the Spanish program seeks to build a foundational knowledge and skills and an appreciation for Spanish-speaking cultures. Comprehensive language skills of reading, writing, listening, speaking, and cultural competency are equally valued. Opportunities for creative and interdisciplinary teaching abound, and student growth at Heronfield is measured in many ways, ranging from conventional assessments to innovative projects and collaborative work.

The teacher in this full-time role will also serve as a grade advisor, part of a three-person team, and will find additional opportunities to build professional and personal connections to the school community through coaching and co-curricular activities, according to one’s interest and experience.
