Sarah joined the faculty at Heronfield in 2009 and now teaches seventh-grade Spanish. She is a University of New Hampshire graduate with a degree Spanish and a minor in Sustainable Living. She has nearly 15 years of Spanish-teaching experience, both in classroom settings and through private tutoring. Sarah trained at Dartmouth in the Rassias Method, and employs an active communicative and project-based approach to learning Spanish in her classroom, coupled with individualizing learning through differentiation and performance-based assessment. As one of her Spanish class projects, Sarah started the school butterfly and vegetable gardens at Heronfield Academy. During her free time she often can be found in a garden somewhere, enjoying a long dog walk with a pack of pups, or playing soccer with her family.
