Meggie Donovan, Heronfield’s 6th-grade English and Humanities instructor, will be a guest speaker at Inside-Outside 2019, a conference centered on promoting place-based, environmentally-focused practices in the classroom. Appropriately titled, “Poetry in Place,” Meggie’s workshop will explore language and teach attendees how poetry connects to their everyday lives. Her course will focus on style, voice, observation, and topic generation in nature poetry–the same techniques she employs when teaching poetry in her 6th-grade classroom here at Heronfield.
