This past weekend Heronfield students participated in a Model United Nations conference at Worcester State University led by Don Clark.
Eleven Heronfield students were in attendance and formed delegations representing Angola, Libya, and Uruguay. The students deliberated a range of issues in committee, including: Advancement of women, press freedom, clean water, ISIS, and the North Korea crisis.
Notably, two of our students, delegates representing the country of Uruguay on the UN Security Council, won an award for best position paper in their committee. All students worked hard in preparation for the day’s events. Several Heronfield participants penned resolutions that were passed by their committees.
Don Clark is looking forward to building on the successes of this conference and hopes to have an even larger delegation in attendance for the fall 2017 conference in Boston.
